Almond milk does not seem to have much in 1 litre, 2% is not much.

Dr. Cooperman provided credible, evidence based and objective information that I appreciated very much. I need to evaluate my diet to determine if I am taking too high of a dose of Calcium and Vitamin D. Unfortunately, supplements are often recommended without determining if there is a deficiency from dietary sources and then seldom revisited and reviewed.

Dr. Cooperman suggests keeping calcium supplement intake lower than 500 milligrams. Try to stick to 300 milligrams or so per dose because you don’t want that huge amount of calcium all of a sudden hitting your body.

An even better approach is to eliminate supplements and get your calcium organically.

Hi Carol. We do not have an article dedicated to magnesium. However, John Berardi briefly touches on the topic in his post. http://melioguide.com/osteoporosis-nutrition/nutrition-for-bone-health-theres-more-than-just-calcium/

Magnesium is another important mineral that contributes to the bone matrix. And potassium promotes calcium retention. Plus, both minerals support an alkaline environment in the body, essential for good bone health. When potassium and magnesium intake are low, and sodium intake is high – as is common in the standard American diet – bone development can be impaired as excessive dietary sodium can increase urinary calcium losses.

You can refer to the references we provide at the end of the article. On another note, ConsumerLabs does a very thorough job of testing the supplements on the market today and we have not found anyone offering the same level and quality of information for free.

What a shame for all this valuable information to once again have a price tag. Do you reference any free resources or are we to be continually gouged for what should be free information
